With over 85,000 job vacancies this year in our growth sectors, despite good progress, there is still more to be done to close the skills gaps in Essex.
Since 2013, we have used our Evidence Base to create a clear picture of the employment and skills landscape in Essex. Beyond this, it has helped shape the skills system by supporting £15million of funding to enhance local college facilities and equipment.
Now, our fourth edition of the Evidence Base Summary booklet is available. This report is an abridged version of the detailed information we provide on each district and key sector in Essex, Southend and Thurrock.
As with our previous Evidence Base summaries, we have used a combination of published data and statistics, local business feedback and information on planned future developments. However, this year we have built on the information we've provided by highlighting more Further Education and Skills data, in addition to an overview on some of the challenges and opportunities of Brexit.
Together, with a range of partners, we have continued to make excellent progress as this booklet will illustrate, but there is still much to do. If you are ready to get involved with any of the range of activities we do, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
