The ESB has been working hard to deliver change and address the skills challenges that exist across Essex.
Here are just some of our achievements over the last few years:
"I would just like to say how wonderful I think your, 'what's your thing?', guide is. It was sent to my 14yr old son, but it's been a tremendous help to my 18yr old daughter. Whilst at sixth form currently studying Art, she has been feeling the enormous pressure of what she should do next, and most of all what she can do that incorporates her art through a job title. Your guide is a lovely layout of what is actually out there, and the section about art has really given her the hope that there is something out there for her. With also the sections that tell you the actual work places to do with each jobs in the area is just great." - Essex Parent
In the last year we have worked with more than 30 schools and 800 students through our Education and Industry STEM Programme, delivering 44 activities to enthuse and excite young people about careers in our priority sectors through:
Delivered CPD to more than 20 tutors to enhance their teaching capability.
“Visiting Raytheon Systems in Harlow gave me a comforting insight into how the industry are supporting the work we do as college tutors. The CPD event gave me a good understanding of how the industry has changed and how we can implement changes within the college to provide the next generation of engineers.” - Robert McGowan, Senior Tutor in Advanced Manufacturing, Harlow College
Held jobs fairs across Essex to enable more than 20 local employers to recruit from the local labour market.
