We are keen to support careers and jobs fairs accross the county that help to fill vacancies in our key sectors.
On the 9th of October 2017 we will be supporting the ‘Your Future’ event, which is being held at the Towngate Theatre, Basildon.
The annual ‘Your Future’ careers event, is held by Basildon Council, and is a well-established event aimed at 15-19 year olds and their parents/guardians living in the Basildon, Billericay and Wickford area.
The purpose of the event is to showcase the abundance of diverse employers in broad ranging industries across the borough, to present the world of work to young people who are leaving education and thinking about their future.
This year Basildon Council has teamed up with the employer-led Essex Employment & Skills Board to focus this year’s event on the 7 growth sectors across the county.

From Tuesday 7 March to Friday 10 March, the ESB held a series of Free Jobs Fairs across Essex to boost employment.
These free events were held in shopping centres in Harlow, Basildon and Thurrock to give everybody the opportunity to come along. From job seekers over the agee of 16, to people looking for a career change, everybody is welcome to attend any of the three events:
Tuesday 7 March - Harvey Shopping Centre | Harlow | 9:00 - 18:00
Thursday 9 March - Eastgate Shopping Centre | Basildon | 10:00 - 15:30
Friday 10 March - intu Lakeside Shopping Centre | Thurrock | 9:30 - 22:00
These jobs fairs saw many people interact with local employers who had live job vacancies. In addition to this, the events had a training provider in attendance who provided further guidance to people seeking a new opportunity.
Companies held informal interviews during the event, working in one of the following sectors: Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering, Care, Construction, Finance & Insurance, Health, IT, Digital & Creative and Logistics.
